Growing Food Manufacturer in Los Angeles is seeking a seasoned Microbiology Laboratory Manager to lead our laboratory operations & facilitate equipment set-up. **This is a direct hire opportunity.**

Salary range: $80-120K

Responsibilities:

+ Lead daily operations, emphasizing precision and efficiency, while implementing and enforcing quality control standards.

+ Ensure adherence to FDA regulations.

+ Manage the review process, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

+ Develop and manage a robust supplier approval process, establishing selection criteria based on quality, safety, and compliance.

+ Collaborate with Supply Chain/Sourcing teams to foster continuous improvement.

+ Facilitate communication between QA and innovation/R&D teams, providing regulatory insights for new product development.

+ Lead the establishment of an in-house microbiological laboratory, including equipment procurement, SOP development, and team training.

+ Mentor the QC team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

+ Maintain detailed records on quality metrics, supplier assessments, compliance issues, and laboratory development.

Job Qualifications/Skills:

+ Bachelors or Masters degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field.

+ Minimum 2 years of QC management experience in the food industry, with expertise in FDA compliance, SQF, GMP, HACCP, and laboratory management.

+ Demonstrated leadership and team development skills.

+ Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical abilities.
