Traffic Safety Project Manager

This position will provide project management responsibilities for projects or tasks ranging from Minor Projects to Moderate Projects for the Office of Traffic Engineering, Statewide Projects, and various District-specific Projects as assigned. These will be traffic-safety related projects to be constructed or supported. The responsibilities include:
Management of the quality of the products produced.
Organization of a project management team and providing leadership for the team to ensure the completion of the products or task.
Managing the communications specific to the project or task, including both internal communications and external communications.
Managing the risk associated with each project and coordination with the project team to minimize risk and/or manage the risk.
Management of the scope of the project and the process to change the scope.
Managing the process to resolve disputes; and manage the financial aspects of the projects or tasks. This position will be responsible for multiple projects at one time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Licensure as a Professional Civil Engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID). (If obtaining licensure through Comity (reciprocity), a temporary permit from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.) AND the following:
Knowledge of all phases of program delivery including scoping, pre-design, final design, and construction.
Knowledge of contracting procedures.
Knowledge of project management principles, practices, techniques, and tools.
Knowledge of MnDOT policies, procedures and state/federal rules and regulations.
Knowledge of critical path scheduling theory and applications, and scheduling software such as Artemis Project View (APV) or Primavera P6Experience with environmental commitments.
