Position Summary: As a Project Accountant, you will be crucial in overseeing the financial management of our projects for the Traffic Sector. Your key duties will include generating monthly client invoices, researching, and tracking receivables, and processing contracts. A critical aspect of the role involves collaborating with project managers to assess financial status and invoicing. We are looking for a resourceful and adaptable individual who thrives in a dynamic setting. Ideally, this position will start with 30 hours a week in the office, with the expectation to transition to full-time and eventually move into a hybrid role.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities
  • Prepare FAR-compliant forms for proposals/projects
  • Prepare and process client contracts and amendments
  • Prepare and process sub-consultant contracts and invoices
  • Maintain project financial and contractual records in Deltek Ajera and SharePoint
  • Prepare client invoice packages and follow up on outstanding payments
  • Prepare project financial status reports
  • Contribute to the overall general office and administrative tasks as needed​​​​​​
Requirements
  • 3+ years of project accounting experience working with engineering, construction, or architectural firms
  • Comprehensive understanding of direct, indirect, allowable, and unallowable costs associated with the FAR & GAAP accounting principles
  • Request and process insurance certificates
  • Comprehensive understanding of AASHTO Uniform Auditing & Accounting Guide requirements
  • Competent in oral and written communications
  • Attention to detail
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Edge, Project)
  • Comprehensive understanding of complex Excel spreadsheets (pivot tables, formulas, data format/sort/filter, VLOOKUP, etc.)
  • Experience working with project management software applications, preferably Deltek Ajera
