Position Overview
Our client, Shelterhouse, located near downtown Cincinnati, is a community of residents, staff, and volunteers working together to provide basic human services for people of the Greater Cincinnati area who are experiencing homelessness. They pride themselves on providing unconditional care and compassionate assistance while empowering those without resources to move from homelessness and destitution to shelter and stability.
They are currently seeking a fulltime HR Assistant. This role involves managing the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource department, which includes tasks such as recruiting, conducting new hire orientations, administering employee records, and other assigned duties. The position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and presents an excellent opportunity for individuals with light exposure to the field of human resources who are seeking to learn and grow. While Shelterhouse operates 24/7, this full-time onsite position offers flexible hours from Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a point of contact for employees, addressing their queries and concerns related to HR matters.
- Manage full cycle recruitment process, including job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and coordinating with hiring managers.
- Conduct orientation sessions for new employees to familiarize them with company policies and culture.
- Maintain human resource information system, employee records, PTO banks, payroll changes, and serves as a backup to the Payroll Lead.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Generate regular reports on HR metrics to aid in strategic planning and decision-making.
- Participate in prospective job fairs and implement creative recruiting strategies.
- Pivot and adapt to changing priorities, demonstrating flexibility to work on project-based assignments as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in full-cycle recruiting.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including data entry, data processing, use of communication tools, and human resources software.
