Reconcile General Ledger accounts.

Responsible for the creation and transmission of union reporting as needed.

Provide customer service to employees by answering questions and processing special requests.

May assist with new employee setup, garnishments, benefits deductions and direct deposit, etc.

Upload and edit vacation, sick and PTO accruals monthly for accuracy and resolve issues.

Process reimbursements for expense and educational trainings.

May perform other accounting related duties as assigned (AP/AR).

Knowledge of state tax implications. Ability to meet payroll deadlines consistently. Flexible team player who can adjust to ongoing changes related to company growth. Accuracy, neatness and timeliness of record keeping and filing. Perform other duties as assigned.

Three years of experience processing payroll. Union and in-house payroll a plus. AA Degree in accounting/bookkeeping. BA Degree in accounting preferable, experience can be substituted for education. ADP Accounting Software skills. Understanding of accounting principles and practices. Strong Communication skills both orally and written. Proven ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information and communications. Must be self-motivating and able to work independently on assigned tasks with minimal or no supervision. Must have proven ability to work with all levels of the organization, exhibit a professional demeanor and possess strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Assertive individual capable of achieving results. Ability to understand and execute complex oral and written instructions. Must exhibit excellent problem solving skills. Typing: 60 Words per Minute. Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel and Ten Key by touch.

Ability to get along with office staff and all company contacts/vendors Required to sit for long periods of time. Infrequent light physical effort required. Work with computers, fax machines, copiers, telephones.

Normal office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is expected that you may work beyond normal office hours as required, based on department demands, goals and projects.
