Job Description:

Responsible for providing risk oversight and advice to the Line of Business (LOB) on risk management issues, is responsible for credit approval, and is accountable for sound asset quality and portfolio performance. The role involves working closely with Small Business Credit to review and make timely concurrence decisions on a variety of Small Business commercial credit products ranging from commercial real estate, equipment, lines of credit, SBA loans, and unique structures covering the Lines & Loans and Practice Solutions portfolios. The candidate will also have a strong analytic proclivity and work closely with client selection, credit strategies, enterprise Credit Risk policy, SAG, and other risk teams to review proposed changes to product, client selection, underwriting, credit policy, or regulatory oversight. Thorough knowledge of relevant commercial policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements to ensure adherence to delegated approval authority.

Primary responsibilities include:
• Provide credit risk concurrence for new credit and existing monitoring decisions
• Ensure underwriting adherence to commercial credit policy
• Work closely with Enterprise Credit Policy team to ensure appropriate Small Business perspective included within Commercial Policy
• Work with sales enablement teams to ensure client selection is in line with credit risk objectives
• Provide Risk point of view on proposed changes to credit buy box and determine impact to asset quality outcomes
• Demonstrate candor by actively and constructively debating with front line unit teams
• Ensure appropriate metrics and KPI are in place to effectively monitor Small Business portfolios
• Review and assess data and information on customer profiles and portfolio performance
• Provide subject matter expertise as a key partner in initiative change, product change, and regulatory oversight

Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of credit lending experience across a range of products, preferably Small Business / Commercial
  • Knowledge of Commercial Credit Policy and regulatory environment
  • Proven experience in partnering, influencing, and persuading to achieve desired results
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills that can deliver clear and constructive communication with appropriate candor Demonstrated conviction and decision orientation
  • Experience in developing presentations and delivering to senior level executives

Desired Qualifications
  • Formal commercial credit training and proficiency analyzing business financial statements
  • Commercial lending experience, including knowledge of various industry segments

  • Self-starter with excellent anticipation skills; problem solving; follow up
