Job Title: Engineering Project Manager Location: Remote NA Job Overview and key duties (agile) Responsible for planning, executing, and managing divisional capital projects exceeding a budget of $70,000 USD. Ensure divisional projects are executed according to plan meeting quality standards and delivering on time and within budget. Develop and implement project management plans within the division including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation. Establish project governance frameworks, processes, and standards to ensure consistent project management practices across the division. Monitor project performance, track key metrics, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate with functional managers across the division to allocate resources effectively and efficiently. Ensure that projects stay within the allocated budget by closely monitoring expenses, tracking costs, and implementing cost-saving measures where possible. Drive division-wide continuous improvement in project management practices, methodologies, and tools. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness. Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and implement improvements for future capital projects. Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in project management and implement relevant improvements to enhance project outcomes. Develop a category strategy for post-mold automation to optimize the processes related to heat treatment, parts handling, bail, and component assembly to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall productivity. Manage and lead a team of project managers providing guidance, support, and mentorship throughout the division. Foster a collaborative and high-performing project management team ensuring effective communication, resource coordination, and conflict resolution. Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including customers suppliers and cross-functional teams. Manage stakeholder expectations by communicating project progress and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise. Develop risk management strategies and contingency plans to minimize project disruptions and ensure successful project outcomes. Ensure that project teams have the necessary skills, tools, and support to deliver project objectives. Develop and implement change management strategies to effectively manage project changes and ensure stakeholder buy-in. Communicate change impacts to facilitate change adoption and minimize resistance to change. Implement quality management processes and standards to ensure that projects meet customer requirements and adhere to industry standards. Conduct project reviews and audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions across the division. Prepare and present project status reports including progress, risk, and issues to senior management and stakeholders. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of project deliverables, lessons learned, and project closure activities. Manage a project management team to ensure work is performed according to requirements. Ensure compliance of self and team in accordance with health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to safeguard the wellbeing of staff and visitors. Provide regular, consistent, and transparent communication and interaction with the divisional leadership team about divisional capital project activities, potential threats, opportunities, and recommended actions. Responsible for coaching and developing direct reports and managing high-performing teams that deliver continuous improvement, added value, and cost reductions. Complete regular performance reviews of direct reports, and manage attendance, disciplinary issues, and procedures as appropriate. Ability to role model our Values. Additional information (including specialized qualifications/skills) Strong understanding of plastic injection molding processes including mold design, tooling, material selection, and production techniques. Experience with CAD/CAM software and familiarity with industry standards and regulations is beneficial. Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects from initiation to completion including project planning, resource allocation, risk management, and budget control. Experience with project management methodologies such as Agile or six Sigma is preferred. Previous experience working in the plastic injection molding industry is highly desirable. Knowledge of industry-specific challenges, best practices, and quality control standards. Experience with different types of plastic materials and their properties is valuable. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including design, engineers, production managers, quality control personnel, and suppliers. Experience coordinating and leading multidisciplinary teams is important for successful project execution. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues that may arise during the project life cycle. The ability to make informed decisions quickly and effectively is crucial for managing project timelines and deliverables. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to effectively communicate project goals, progress, and updates to stakeholders at all levels. Leadership skills to motivate and inspire team members to drive project success. Experience implementing quality assurance processes and ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. Knowledge of quality control tools and methodologies such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) is beneficial. A track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives within the plastic injection molding process. Experience in identifying areas for process optimization, implementing best practices, and measuring performance metrics is valuable. Experience in managing relationships with suppliers and vendors including sourcing, negotiation, and contract management. Knowledge of supplier qualification processes and supply chain management principles is advantageous. Demonstrated experience in successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines. An inspiring leader who can attract and retain key talent for the Division. Experience leading, coaching, building teams, and mentoring highly skilled and experienced direct reports. ERP experience (IFS advantageous but not essential). Experience in a Private Equity (PE) environment is advantageous. Ability to travel as needed 50% of the time
