Position: Grievance & Appeals Coordinator (Job Id - 2541718)

Location: San Francisco CA 94104 (Hybrid, mostly remote)

Duration: 6 Months + Possible Extension

  • Estimated MINIMUM of 5 days of department orientation and training are required and will be onsite at Mission Bay.

  • We are looking for someone who has direct experience handing complaints and grievances within a large hospital setting.
  • Will consider candidates who have 6+ months of experience

Candidates must have the following experience and shown their resume:

  • Experience researching and responding to member grievances and appeals, while meeting regulatory requirements.
  • A background in grievance and appeals case processing
  • Strong knowledge of federal & state regulations and Medicare/Medi-Caid regulations.
  • Ability to compose high quality, detailed written communication
  • Experience with EPIC
  • In this position, this person will be:
  • Responsible for handling the review process for grievances, appeals, or denials including investigating, preparing and presenting appropriate materials for review.
  • Resolving member concerns in partnership with internal and external departments while ensuring compliance with regulatory rules and timeframes, within mandated timeframes and compliance.
  • Ensuring appeal are processed in accordance with regulations, compliance standards and policies and procedures.
  • Meeting timeframes for performance with balancing the need to produce high quality work related to complex, and sensitive member issues.
  • Investigating all issues, including collection of appropriate data, preparation and presentation of documents to decision makers.
