About the Opportunity

This position is a coordinator, responsible for the coordination and supervision of Professional Judgment (PJ) to include budget adjustments, FAFSA (ISIR elements) adjustments, and dependency overrides, along with Satisfactory Academic Progress (as needed). The coordinator will also be responsible for coordinating the PJ process to include PeopleSoft updates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate appeals (PJ, budget adjustments, dependency overrides) and make recommendations for approval or denial.
  • Review PJ appeal applications, make appropriate award adjustments, and notify students of the results.
  • Coordinate and monitor decisions and actions in PeopleSoft, ensuring all adjustments and data updates are processed efficiently.
  • Establish and amend business processes within PeopleSoft to track and manage student data appropriately.
  • Evaluate and monitor quality assurance and compliance with regulations within PeopleSoft.
  • Coordinate with other staff in establishing and revising business processes as needed within PeopleSoft.
  • Assist in the Satisfactory Academic Progress processes.
  • Advise and counsel students and parents regarding the financial aid process.
  • Analyze and evaluate students' financial needs.
  • Advise on availability and sources of financial assistance, including Pell Grant, Campus-based aid, Stafford loan, scholarships, and other programs.
  • Interpret to students the policies, processes, and regulations pertaining to financial aid and all aid programs.
  • Counsel students by telephone, through personal interviews, and email communications.
  • Serve as a back-up/alternate for the university Fee Appeals committee.
  • Attend professional workshops, meetings, and training sessions to assure adequate professional development and keep abreast of current rules and regulations.
  • Perform other appropriate duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's and 2+ years of relevant experience or Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing.
  • Ability to counsel and advise students.
  • Knowledge of basic financial aid program requirements.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Knowledge of basic keyboard skills.
  • Proficient in Excel.
