Embedded Systems Engineer

About The Role

OneH2 is seeking a skilled professional with expertise in embedded electronics, electronic schematics, data transmission interfaces, wireless data transmission, and automated industrial control systems. We require embedded development programmers with proven experience in C, C++, and Python languages in an embedded environment. A minimum of two or more years of experience with references is mandatory. Additionally, candidates must have hardware experience with I2C, SPI, EEPROM, ADC, DAC, serial communications (RS-232 & RS-485), and CAN bus.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating effectively in a team environment, including:
    • Utilizing GitHub or a similar developer platform for managing software development.
    • Creating well-structured code with appropriate APIs, headers, and documentation to support usage and implementation.

  • Proficient in understanding and troubleshooting hardware issues related to printed circuit boards.
  • Experience in hardware testing and troubleshooting.
  • Developing state-machine style software for automated control systems using C++
  • Testing software on live hydrogen production equipment
  • Interfacing using industrial control interfaces such as RS232, RS485, and MODBUS
  • Traveling to customer sites for any troubleshooting equipment and solving issues related to hardware/software.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Required to be considered for this role: Bachelor's or equivalent degree with a focus on Electronics Engineering, or other equivalent areas.
  • Required to be considered for this role: 2-5 years of relevant working experience designing hardware and software for embedded systems. *References are required.
  • Required to be considered for this role: 2-5 years of troubleshooting and debugging hardware or software with embedded industrial control systems. *References are required.
  • Experience with Arduino hardware and libraries.
  • Experience with embedded data transmission interfaces (I2C, SPI, Serial).
  • Experience with industrial data transmission interfaces (RS232, RS485, CAN, ModBus RTU).
  • Basic knowledge of wireless transmission using Cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
  • Must be able to work within an existing architectural design.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Being able to think creatively while troubleshooting.
  • Innovative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Ability to commute to work daily.
  • Ability to work individually or with teams of engineers.
  • Ability to travel 50% to 80%.
