The Human Resources Business Partner is a key member of the plant HR team and is responsible for partnering with facility leadership to provide support and oversight of HR responsibilities.The HR Business Partner provides hands on HR support in the areas of employee relations, staffing, performance management, employee engagement, training, and general HR administration. This is a highly interactive role requiring the unique combination of excellent communication, problem solving and task management skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides coaching and guidance to leaders and employees regarding employment issues in areas such as policy and procedure interpretation/application, dispute resolution, corrective action, leaves of absence, harassment/discrimination, and terminations.
  • Administer compensation and benefit plans.
  • Participates in recruitment processes.
  • Coordinates the onboarding process and conducts new hire orientation.
  • Assists in leave of absence administration.
  • Assists with Payroll processing.
  • Participates in ongoing HR initiatives such as employee engagement, performance management, employee wellness, etc.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
  • Maintains employee files and records.
  • Maintains a positive attendance record by demonstrating consistent and punctual attendance on a regular basis
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Keen sense of ethics and confidentiality with regard to employee and business issues.
  • Understanding of federal, state and local employment laws.
  • Strong consultative, presentation and business communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional follow-up skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office products and experience with HRIS systems.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree with major or emphasis in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of HR Business Partner experience, preferable in a manufacturing environment
