Job Description The New Product Department (NPD) develops new health plan product offerings for commercial business.

As new products are developed, there is continued importance on managing the in-market product life cycle.

In this role, the ideal candidate will manage the in-market life of selected national products/programs that are developed from the New Product Department.

The Senior Product Manager is responsible for day-to-day product management, product roadmap development / implementation, and overall product performance. As healthcare becomes ever more hyperlocal, Aetna needs differentiated and integrated solutions that address the needs of employers as they seek to address diverse health needs across the local and national markets in which they do business.

The successful candidate has a strong background in health care business strategy, product management and development, a passion for positive member/employer experience and a prior experience working in a matrix organization. In addition, demonstrated success in commercial healthcare business in the large and national account segments is a plus.

Essential Responsibilities: *

Leverages in-depth knowledge and understanding of products across functions and within market segments to manage in-market products, including development of features/enhancements and a multi-year product roadmap *

Supports and leads matrix stakeholders within the Aetna/CVS Health enterprise to ensure integrated value for our business customers and members *

Evaluates, directs, and works with key partners to create requirements/specifications for use of appropriate business processes and systems to support product enhancements *

Seeks and maintains comprehensive understanding of internal and external environmental influences and competitive pressures in order to support and identify enhancements for selected products *

Ensures product offerings provide value to customers/members and meet commercial organizational goals.

Works with key partners to effectively communicate program features and value *

Is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for selected products.

Understands and tracks key performance indicators including member experience, ROI, and product effectiveness *

Establishes and manages large (or significant) cross-functional development and enhancement work groups as necessary. Anticipate resource needs, set priorities, establish accountabilities, define roles/responsibilities, and manage relationships to secure resources not under direct control *

May participate in and/or conducts focus group sessions, broker briefings and product presentations to consultants, brokers, general agents, employer groups and internal staff *

Leads product performance management activities; oversees business case development for next steps (from enhancements up to and including sunsetting) *

Owns and is accountable for P/L success for product(s) Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: Minimum: 75,400 Maximum: 158,300 Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.

The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location. Required Qualifications *

Product/program development and/or product management experience preferred *

Commercial health insurance experience is preferred Education *

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience *
