Led by the Director of Innovation, the Assistant Director of Marketing is responsible for creating a diverse marketing strategy across multiple lifecycles and audiences within Higher Education. Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise a small team of marketing and communication professionals
  • Collaborate across the organization on brainstorming and creating new marketing initiatives.
  • Maintain the Company website
  • Analyze and report on marketing and communication effectiveness
  • Review current marketing campaigns for weakness and develop solutions within budget constraints.
  • Oversee digital marketing efforts including social media advertising, digital sales, search engine optimization, and analytics.
  • Responsible for a cohesive brand identity at public-facing events including the Slate Innovation Summit, annual conferences, and other hosted events.
  • Coordinate a unified voice and style guide, for all external communications
  • Centralize organization and report all external marketing and communication efforts across the Company.
  • Partner with product managers to target a diverse range of audiences, users, and competitors.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of marketing and/or communication experience
  • Experience managing a team preferred.
  • Basic technical skills involving Microsoft Office, HTML, and CSS.
  • An interest in higher education or software development.
  • Experience with digital marketing including, but not limited to, social media advertising, digital advertisements, SEO, and analytics.
  • Comfortable communicating complex philosophical and technical details to audiences of highly variable skill levels.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment - taking on individual action items and getting things done quickly and expertly.
  • Experience in planning, leading, directing, and managing multiple projects at once.
  • Ready to learn and understand our users' concerns and business needs, and the world of higher education.
  • Bachelor's degree or greater required.
  • This is not a remote position and requires on-site, in-office work in our New Haven, CT office.
