Summary

Do you love food and are passionate about community outreach? Are you a tactical and organized marketing maven? Then, Lazy Acres is looking for you The Store Marketing Coordinator (SMC) leads the community classroom program execution and assists in tactical store marketing implementation, community relations, donations, events, and partnerships. You will implement the marketing strategy in support of Corporate Marketing initiatives. Recognition of business unit interdependence and ability to leverage time and resources are essential. You must have excellent communication skills, and high stamina. Must be people-oriented and able to successfully communicate with all personality types and multidisciplinary teams in a warm friendly manner. The SMC must enjoy customer contact, soliciting new clients, and building long term client relationships.

Flexible schedule is necessary to meet store schedules. You will have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines successfully while not sacrificing the quality of the tasks performed.

Store Marketing & Team Liaison Responsibilities

Work with Corporate Marketing Team and Store Leadership to execute in-store marketing efforts; ensure signage, distribute/display collateral materials as directed; provide direction and implementation of seasonal decor and strategic cross merchandising.Establish and maintain consistent branding throughout the merchandising, signing, and advertising efforts.Share ideas with Corporate Marketing & Community team based on field experience of the market, area, and the customer.Work under the strategic guidance of the Community Programs team to create meaningful experiences in the store.Partner with store Chalk Artist & Corporate Marketing team to bring marketing programs to life.Expected to provide customer service that is extra ordinary and exceeds the expectations of our customers. They are required to follow established policies and guidelines that go beyond simply smiling and greeting customers. Going above and beyond encompasses attitudes, respect, and flexibility. The SMC is expected to have a positive "can-do" attitude; to treat others with respect; and easily adjust to changes in the workplace.Monthly update meetings with Corporate Marketing & Community Team

Community Marketing Responsibilities

Build strong relationships with staff and customers in the community to foster goodwill and brand awareness.Identify and manage strategic opportunities within the community; execute plans based on the store Community Marketing budget with guidance from the Community Program Manager; coordinate store events and partnerships; schedule, coordinate, and plan successful execution of in-store and external events.Coordinate and deliver local donations and associated programs; coordinate the execution and follow up of Envirotokens program and maintain a strong relationship with community recipients.Coordinate and execute off-site community events and sponsorships, in partnership with the Corporate Marketing & Community team.Represent the Community Classroom with a healthy, positive, outgoing and welcoming attitude.Liaison with the community and educators to design and coordinate on-site cooking classes and events based on Corporate strategic classroom program. Collect specific information regarding the class topic, menu and general class description.Welcome and inform customers about the Classroom initiatives and upcoming classes and drive ticket's sales.Assist customers in the signing up process and receive ideas/suggestions or address complaints.Coordinate with educators for the planning and execution of classes by collecting detailed recipes, run of show, setting up details.Purchase of ingredients, set up, assist, and clean-up facilities before, during and after each cooking class/event by being the educator's helper.Practice safe food handling procedures at all times. A plus if you enjoy cooking or have some background in cooking to best aid the chefs during their classes.Process classes transactions after each class.Receive and process educator's invoices to corporate.Must be comfortable with all age groups and different skill sets (toddlers, kids, young adults, adults).Compiles lists of prospective educators, speakers, customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, Chamber of Commerce meetings, referrals, company database and other sources to promote use of facility.Potential to attend community meetings as a representative of the company.Accounting via Microsoft Excel (inter-store transfers, chef payments, ticket sales- all reports are provided, but the SMC would need to input info into spreadsheets).Qualifications

As an extension of the Lazy Acres brand, candidates should be personable, outgoing, and be passionate about food and education.Relevant schooling or work experience is required.Two years marketing experience, preferably in a retail environment.One year community outreach and event marketing experience.Cooking experience or cooking education is a plus.Excellent proven verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organizational, time, and budget management skills.Proven ability to build relationships and excellent customer service skills.Ability to interact with the media; will provide training if needed.Self-directed and able to work both autonomously and within a team.Ability to work with the needs of multiple teams, negotiate, and build consensus.Knowledge of local community preferred.Computer skills in Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.Ability to work holidays, nights, and weekends for special events and activities.Note* Front of house experience has been shown to be very helpful for this position: personable, outgoing, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, sense of urgency, friendly, and passionate about food and education.

Education and/or Experience

Some college preferred. The individual must have experience and education sufficient to perform the outlined duties of the position along with multi-task and multi-project capabilities.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

A valid California Driver License and an excellent driving record.Food Handler's Card, or willingness to acquire one.Language Skills

Ability to read, and interpret documents in English, such as procedure manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Knowledge of English

This is a customer service driven position. The candidate must have the ability to speak, read and understand English. Ability to speak and understand Spanish a plus.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to resolve conflicts in such a manner to create a win-win situation. Ability to analyze a variety of situations, think through to a solution and implement the solution.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, talk, or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
