Position Overview

Scripps Health Administrative Services provides support to our five hospitals and numerous outpatient facilities, delivering care to a significant number of patients each year through a network of affiliated healthcare professionals.

This role is a Full-Time, Night Shift position that is eligible for benefits, located at Scripps Memorial Encinitas within the Emergency Department as a Registered Nurse.

Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas has been a vital part of the coastal North County community since 1978, offering a comprehensive range of clinical and surgical services, including a 24-hour emergency room. Our 38-bed Level III Emergency Department is located just a short distance from one of Southern California's most picturesque beaches. The department fosters a family-like atmosphere with a leadership team that has demonstrated longevity. The unit operates on a self-scheduling basis, providing flexibility. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team member, eager to learn, with experience in a fast-paced emergency room environment, and a strong work ethic.

As a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Services team at Scripps Memorial Encinitas, you will deliver direct patient care within your scope of practice. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting patient assessments, planning and implementing care strategies, and evaluating patient progress towards desired outcomes.
  • Assuming primary responsibility for patient care as directed by the Care Team under your supervision.
  • Collaborating effectively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

To maintain eligibility for your retention incentive, the following criteria must be adhered to:

  • Must remain in the original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in the offer letter)
  • Must remain in the original department/specialty
  • Must retain the original Job Title
  • Transfers to other locations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonuses unless explicitly stated in your offer letter.

Required Qualifications:

  • Registered Nursing Degree from an Accredited School of Nursing
  • Active California RN license
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS Healthcare Provider Certifications through the American Heart Association
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in adult emergency services
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and following instructions in English
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive demeanor

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a fast-paced emergency room setting
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • CEN – Certified Emergency Nursing

Position Pay Range: $57.00-$81.60/hour
