Responsibilities
- Rounding on critically ill patients, admissions, assessing patients as part of a Code Blue team, and participation in the multidisciplinary care and management of adult medical, neuro., and CV ICU patients.
- The APP's practice incorporates both independent decision-making abilities as well as collaboration with the Intensivist(s) to provide expert care.
- Involvement in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Perform select procedures based on need and experience and training of the provider.
- This role may be unit, program, or service based.
- Schedule: Full time hospital position, dayshift, weekdays, and weekends (11-hour shift).
- Compensation: Education and experience may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
- Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Licensure: Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant licensure in good standing
- Certification: For APRN - must have Acute Care Certification or be eligible for national certification; Must be BLS and ACLS certified
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in previous clinical role (can include RN experience); Strongly prefer prior ICU experience. Demonstrated clinical competency, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relations skills, computer competence and must have a strong desire to care for medically complex patients as well as an active desire to learn.
