ACT Team Advanced Practice Provider - Part Time - Cumberland County

We currently have an opening for a part-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) on our Cumberland County Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team.

As a member of the ACT multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing clinical consultation and treatment for patients in need of mental health and substance use services, conducting psychiatric assessments, making appropriate referrals to community physicians, providing management and administration of medication in conjunction with the psychiatric nurse, and providing other support services, as needed.


Schedule

PT - 8 hours per week.

Pay

$75.00 per hour.

Job Responsibilities of an Advanced Practice Provider

  • Evaluate members in crisis for treatment and ongoing psychiatric services
  • Perform physicals and emergency medical care as required and make referrals to specialized providers as appropriate
  • Provide psychiatric consultations with members and staff
  • Collaborate with other Advanced Practice Providers, programs and community agencies concerning referrals and member care
  • Comply with all requirements of the NC Medical Board to retain his/her license as a physician and/or NC BOD Nursing
  • Comply with SouthLight Compliance, Credentialing and HR policies as it relates to any filings with the NC Medical, ethics committees or malpractice suits. Complete all medical and clinical procedures and documentation necessary to ensure complete and accurate billing of services rendered
  • Participate in ACT team meetings on days worked
  • Provide Medical leadership and guidance for the team
  • Meet individuals assigned to the team in the community to perform assessment, evaluation and other tasks related to job

Qualifications of an Advanced Practice Provider

Licensure/Certifications

  • Physician Assistant (PA), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Certification (PMHNP)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a community health setting in behavioral health and addiction medicine or equivalent experience
  • Experience with substance abuse and rehabilitation preferred
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Familiarity with the North Carolina Controlled Substance Abuse Registry
  • Knowledge of all CARF standards and all federal and state laws, rules and regulations pertaining to medical, nursing and clinical behavioral health care
  • High degree of attention to detail
