New York, United States Asian American Federation Full time

Location and Reporting:

This is a hybrid role reporting to AAF's Wall Street office and will be required to be in the office 2 days a week. Special events or convenings may require this person to work on occasional weeknights/weekends.

About Us:

Founded in 1989, the Asian American Federation (AAF) is one of the strongest leadership voices advocating for better policies, services, and funding that lead to more justice and opportunity for Asian immigrants, one of New York City's poorest and underserved communities. As an umbrella leadership organization, we represent 70 community-based organizations serving 1.5 million Asian New Yorkers, the fastest-growing population in the city.

About the Opportunity:

Reporting to the Director of Fundraising, the Asian American Federation Inc. (AAF) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Fundraising Associate to help carry out our organization's efforts to secure funding, build strategic partnerships, manage fundraising operations, and facilitate donor relations. The Senior Fundraising Associate is a crucial member of the Fundraising team and will be instrumental in helping the organization to advance its mission and ensure the sustainability of its programs.

What Youll Do:

As the Senior Fundraising Associate, responsibilities will include, but are not exclusive to:

Strategic Planning Support

  • Work on all aspects of fundraising planning, implementation, and strategy to support the organization's mission and goals.
  • Maintain the organizations annual fundraising calendar in close coordination with the Director of Fundraising, senior staff, and the Communications and Program/Policy teams.

Fundraising Operations

  • Oversee the donor database, which includes maintaining accurate and up-to-date donor records.
  • Prepare and create reports and analyses for the Board of Directors, funders, and senior staff.
  • Coordinate and send donor solicitations, acknowledgements, and other correspondence.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to create compelling fundraising materials and communications.

Prospect Research & Proposal Creation

  • Assist with the identification and cultivation of new funding opportunities, including foundation grants, corporate sponsorships, major gifts, and individual giving campaigns.
  • Develop funding proposals that are in alignment with organizational priorities and funders requirements.
  • Manage the grant application process, including the tracking of deadlines, submission of timely proposals and reports, and compliance with funder requirements.
  • Assist in cultivating and maintaining relationships with current and prospective donors, ensuring consistent engagement and a strong, positive connection to our mission.

Event Management

  • Attend events and meetings with potential collaborators.
  • Work on the planning and execution of fundraising events including the annual gala, donor engagement and recognition activities, as well as other special events.

Why Work with Us:

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree required in a related field (public relations, communications, English, etc., preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience in grant writing, fundraising, and grants management for nonprofit organizations; experience in the social justice sector a plus.
  • All new hires must be vaccinated and must stay up-to-date with COVID-19 vaccines unless they have been granted a reasonable accommodation for religion or disability. If you are offered a position with AAF, this requirement must be met by your date of hire, unless a reasonable accommodation for exemption is received and approved by AAF.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary is $67,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Comprehensive benefits package includes generous paid time off, health, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as a 403(b) plan.

To uphold organizational parity and pay equity, AAF will use a non-negotiable salary structure that takes into consideration the entire breadth of a candidates experience, employment, and education to arrive at their base salary.

The Asian American Federation is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
