What you will do

As our healthcare Cashier / Kitchen assistant you will play a crucial role in enhancing the hospital experience for patients, visitors and staff by providing exceptional customer service. You will handle daily operations such as cash handling, inventory management, and adhering to health and safety standards. The ideal candidate is a compassionate and skilled assistant with excellent communication skills, capable of contributing to a positive atmosphere within the hospital setting.
  • Customer Service: Provide friendly, personalized service to patients, visitors, and staff, resolving inquiries and complaints courteously.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean, organized caf environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and restock supplies, ensuring inventory levels are maintained.
  • Cash Handling and POS Operation: Handle transactions accurately using the POS system and balance cash drawers.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with team members and hospital staff for smooth operations.
  • Menu Knowledge: Stay informed about menu items and make recommendations based on customer preferences.
  • Special Requests: Accommodate dietary needs and prepare beverage orders for hospital events.
  • Professional Development: Participate in training to enhance barista skills and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Supportive Environment: Create a welcoming atmosphere, offering compassionate interactions to support hospital patrons.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Assist with special projects, events, and additional tasks as needed to support the overall operations and goals of the hospital caf and broader hospital community.
What you will need
  • Previous kitchen assistant experience preferred, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food and beverage service.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with a diverse team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in hospitality or a related field is a plus
