Conagra Brands is looking for a Automation Engineer to join our growing team You will analyze controls, systems, and electrical engineering requirements for capital investment projects. You will work onsite at our plant in Waterloo, Iowa. You will report to the Plant Engineering Manager. Known as "The Pudding Plant", our Waterloo Plant produces Snack Pack Pudding and David's Sunflower Seeds for consumers all across the world

How will you make an impact?

Your work will involve coordination with multiple partners (e.g., Corporate Engineering, Operations, Finance, EHS and RQI). External interaction will include equipment vendors, construction contractors, and engineering services contractors.

  • You will work on projects cradle to grave. Startups, construction management, safety requirements.
  • Develop project submittal packages that are complete and concise, and due diligence to ensure project success.
  • Write detailed functional control / electrical descriptions for the unit operation.
  • You will participate and build experiments in plant trials
  • You will present technical reports to supervisor, both written and oral; Interpret, develop, and issue technical specifications
Do you have what it takes?
  • Bachelors' of Science in Engineering
  • Experience with Controls Engineering with 5+ years in food manufacturing and food controls system design.
  • Proficient using AutoCAD software, electrical schematics
  • Experience with manufacturing systems and equipment
Physical Requirements

While performing the responsibilities of this job, you are required to talk and hear. You are frequently required to stand and walk. You are occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; taste and smell. You must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. You will be exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature.
