Essential Functions: Greet and register patients; collect co-payments, pre-payments, insurance information, and photo ID when serving in the Patient Services (front desk / reception) function. Answer a high volume of inbound calls in a timely, pleasant and professional manner when serving in the Patient Intake specialist (scheduling) function. Communicate all pertinent patient information regarding their call such as appointment information, directions, check-in times, referral information, and copayments. Maintain timely communication with patients, families, and staff Verify and document insurance information as defined by current business practices. Maintain and update assigned appointment reports, new patient reports or other assigned scheduling modules. Chart preparation and management Maintain a working knowledge of health care plan requirements and health plan networks Any and all other duties as assigned Education and Experience Requirements: High School diploma/GED or equivalent Customer Service experience required Previous experience in a healthcare facility in relation to pre-registration or appointment scheduling preferred Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel Ability to: Comply with company policies, procedures, practices and business ethics guidelines. Complete job required training.
