About the role
This unpaid internship program is tailored for engineering students seeking to enrich their academic learning with practical, hands-on experience in the field. Interns will collaborate with seasoned engineers and project managers, gaining invaluable insights into real-world applications of engineering principles.
Dive into server-side application logic and integration of the front-end developer's output. Back-end developers usually write the web services and APIs used by front-end and mobile application developers.
Responsibilities
As a back-end developer, you will:
Get exposure to database management technologies forming part of the app being developed
Build Microservices using design patterns, consume or create REST APIs
Implement standard authentication techniques like ADFS to protect the back-end services
Work with technology stacks including: Node.Js, Python, Java, C++, MySQL, NoSQL, Relational Databases, Spring Boot, Kubernetes
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Currently enrolled in an Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or majors relating to these fields
One previously completed internship
Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with distributed, multi-tiered systems, algorithms, and relational databases.
Experience in optimization mathematics such as linear programming and nonlinear optimization.
Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
Adept at handling ambiguous or undefined problems as well as ability to think abstractly.
