Senior Staff Accountant

Job Summary:
Prepare and review financial documents, reports and statements for Jewish Federation and its agencies.
Job Responsibilities:
Support monthly, quarterly and year-end financial closes
Process general ledger transactions and posts entries
Prepares balance sheet reconciliations and rectifies discrepancies
Perform all cash account reconciliations for all bank accounts
Prepares consolidated financial statements
Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures
Manages the purchase order process
Processes 1099 forms and other forms relevant to the organization
Manages all insurance policies (workers compensation, general liability, D&O)
Reconciles pledges between the development database and the general ledger
Reconciles all credit card purchases to monthly statements
Assists in the annual financial audit and other audits as required
Assists in the annual budget and strategic planning
Assists in preparing the 990 documentation
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business (or equivalent)
Experience in audit accounting
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Additional Technical Requirements:
Knowledge or MS Office products
Strong Microsoft Excel user
Knowledge of QuickBooks
Strong organizational skills
