The Lead Engineer role reports to the assistant chief engineer. They run the overall day-to-day operation of the resort's maintenance department. Leading a team of roughly 25 engineers to complete work orders and projects in a timely professional manner. Knowledge of general construction and maintenance is key in this position. Below are some (not-all) of the main duties within this role:

As a Lead Engineer you would be responsible for:

  • Ensures every guest interaction is positive & if recovery is required, done so professionally
  • Oversees day to day operation of engineering department, team and projects
  • Reports to assistant chief and chief engineer
  • Manages building mechanical systems with BMS/BAS
  • Delegates work orders to team members and vendors as needed
  • Directs room preventative maintenance program
  • Maintains accurate records of all PM, repairs and future work for resort
  • Has the ability to read and understand As-Built drawings
  • Leads a team of 25 engineers
  • Works with other departments to keep the resort running smoothly
  • Has general knowledge of facility plumbing systems (supply and sanitary)
  • Has general knowledge of facility electrical systems
  • Has general knowledge of large-scale HVAC systems (ERUs/RTUs/MAUs/Fan Coil/etc)
  • Maintains inventory & ordering for parts, tools and products needed to complete work
  • Creates POs and manages department checkbook to maintain budget.
Qualifications:
  • Basic construction and trade knowledge
  • Ability to read and understand As-Built drawings
  • Prior experience with RFP planning and comparison
  • Experience leading a large team
  • Prior experience with an FMS or PMS
  • Communicates effectively including via email, phone and interdepartmentally
  • Works well under pressure and without supervision
  • Has the ability to adapt, learn and self-motivate
To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:
  • 3-5 Years prior experience in building maintenance
  • 3+ Years with large scale mechanical systems
  • Prior experience with BMS/BAS
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Willing to maintain a CPO license
  • Knowledge in facility electrical systems
  • Knowledge in facility plumbing systems (supply/sanitary)
