Position Overview:

As a Civil Engineering Lead, you will report to the Civil Engineering Superintendent for the assigned geographical area. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee a diverse team of skilled union craftsmen across various trades, including electrical and mechanical disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of both high and low voltage electrical distribution networks, substations, and power generation facilities.
  • Collaborate closely with fellow Civil Engineering Supervisors, Superintendents, Project Officers, and Engineering/Design teams to ensure project success.
  • Coordinate workforce and resources effectively to deliver projects that meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Fulfill Duty Officer responsibilities as required.
  • Engage with foremen, union representatives, division managers, and both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Direct the daily operations of assigned trades, managing work orders and preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Plan and oversee new construction and renovation projects, conducting regular site inspections.
  • Participate in project design evaluations, providing insights on feasibility and maintenance considerations.
  • Ensure that team members maintain up-to-date certifications, licenses, and training.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
  • Review and authorize timesheets, approve leave requests, and manage training and travel reimbursements.
  • Prepare and submit requests for materials, tools, and personal protective equipment.
  • Work with Human Resources to coordinate disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or requested.

Required Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent qualifications.
  • An associate degree or vocational training, along with prior supervisory experience, is preferred.
  • Strong written communication skills and proficiency in word processing and integrated software applications are essential.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in front of groups, including customers and employees.
  • Experience in managing and leading construction crews and facility operations and maintenance.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must qualify for and maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance, requiring US citizenship.
  • A valid state-issued driver's license is required.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily office-based, with frequent travel required across various locations, necessitating overnight stays in challenging environments. As an exempt employee, you may be expected to work outside of standard hours to provide effective support to clients.
