Patient access specialist

Are you a Healthcare professional looking for a patient access representative role? We are looking for experienced patient access representatives that will speak to patients in the Outpatient department at a large health system to help them register. You will gather their demographics and verify their insurance all while documenting in EPIC. This position is with a large health system located in GA. Hours: Mon- Fri 10:30am - 7:00pm Location: Paulding (Hiram, GA)
salary: $17 - $19 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 7:30 AM - 5 PM
education: High School
Responsibilities
- Answer a high volume of calls each day
- Patient Registration
- Collect patient demographics over the phone to obtain complete and accurate demographic, financial, and insurance information
- Verify Insurance
- Speak to patients about copays
- Interview patients and/or their representatives to obtain complete and accurate demographic, financial, and insurance information, required for billing and collecting patient accounts
- Conducts intensive screening of all Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care patients for pre-certification requirements and provider service eligibility, before registration
- Enter data into EPIC (Registration platform)
- Completes financial evaluation forms
- Speaks and maintains a list of health care financial assistance programs and the eligibility requirements for each program
