Port San Luis Harbor District is seeking a highly motivated and professional individual to serve in a supportive accounting role in the business department. In this role, positive promotion of the mission, vision, and values of the District is expected. Under the general supervision of the Business Manager and Accounting Supervisor, this position holds an integral place in the Port, regularly and professionally interacting with 26 full-time employees working in different disciplines such as Facilities, Harbor Patrol, HR, Admin, and Management along with seasonal lifeguards, occasional contract workers, the District’s Board of Commissioners, Port business owners & lessees, campers, day visitors, fishermen, and various other patrons. The Accounting Technician responsibilities are dynamic and wide-ranging, performing complex clerical and technical accounting work involving the maintenance and reporting of financial or statistical data, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, accounts auditing, revenue receipt, input and balancing; providing information and assistance to staff and the public; participating in the preparation of various reports; reconciliation, maintenance, and monitoring of accounts; and the preparation and maintenance of payroll. Compiles data based on knowledge of accounting and banking practices, departmental operations, and District financial systems requiring a thorough knowledge of established bookkeeping and accounting principles and procedures, and various regulations and laws pertaining to the functional area assigned. #J-18808-Ljbffr
