Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse and/orPsychiatrist/MD, the Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) ) assumes directresponsibility for administering or implementing specific therapeuticprocedures, techniques, treatments, or medications with the aim of enablingrecipients or patients to make optimal use of their therapeutic regime, theirsocial and personal resources, and their residential or inpatient care. The LPTdemonstrates ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficientmanner. The LPT demonstrates criticalthinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care,consistently performs according to established standards and scope of practice,and is accountable for managing and assisting others in the management ofpatient care.
