The Role:

The person in this position will help partners and leaders understand how marketing - across all channels including email, push, paid media, organic search, and onsite - campaigns are performing and driving traffic and sales to the business. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to provide marketing insights within other Business & Customer analytics processes and reporting.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the Marketing Pillar by gathering, interpreting, visualizing, and completing root cause analyses on marketing data from campaigns across channels.
  • Grow a deep understanding of our marketing, customer, and business data sources, internal and external, to help sharpen our insights and recommendations to leaders.
  • Support collaboration with business partners, including data science and consumer insights, to provide wholistic insights on marketing performance and customer touch points to areas around the business.
  • Determine gaps in existing reporting processes and partner with other analysts and technology teams to find and design solutions for self-service reporting and visualizations.
  • Effectively synthesize and communicate complex data and analyses via effective written documents and presentations.

Qualifications:
  • Effectively translate complex data and analyses to generate insights that drive action.
  • Self-directed, innovative thinker with a strong attention to detail.
  • Some knowledge of digital marketing channels, advertising tracking technologies, and web analytics tools for online marketing campaign tracking (e.g. Google Analytics or similar)
  • Knowledge of a/b testing methodologies, with basic knowledge of methods for hypothesis testing, measuring statistical significance, and interpreting confidence intervals a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel data basics, structure, and relationship required. Ability to independently query and prepare data from large enterprise databases for analysis using SQL and experience with visual analytics platforms (e.g. Tableau) a plus.
  • Ability to influentially present information and respond to questions in one-on-one interaction, meeting/group presentation situations involving marketing leadership
  • Ability to combine data and analytical methods to identify patterns, relationships, and trends across multiple data sources.
  • Familiar with aspects of pricing, merchandising, retail operations, financial operations, profitability drivers, and reporting.
  • Comfortable using data to provide answers when the problem is loosely defined or structured. Requires limited guidance to frame business problems to develop/iterate on approaches to analysis.
  • Synthesizes complex data from various sources to support the development of a narrative that can be understood by a broad audience.
  • Intellectual and analytical curiosity - initiative to dig into the "why" of various results.
  • Excellent communication skills: listening, verbal, and written.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Strong work ethic complemented with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, maturity to handle ambiguity, flexibility to perform in a dynamic collaborative environment, and ability to multitask across projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel on occasion.
Education & Experience:
  • BA/BS degree and 2-4 years' relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Analytical Business Specialty, Marketing Research or commensurate retail experience preferred, MS or MBA plus.
