Collins Aerospace is seeking a Digital Hardware Electrical Engineer to serve at a work center with an emphasis on communications products. The primary work product is the complete digital design of a PWB from inception through layout and assembly. Responsibilities include the ability to follow hardware design requirements, observe design checklists, adhere to accepted processes, prepare design documentation and work within a team environment. The ability to coordinate with layout engineers, systems engineers, mechanical engineers, test engineers, FPGA & Software engineers is a must. Moreover, proficiency with analog and mixed‐signal circuits is desirable.

The successful candidate must be a self‐starter and adapt to rapidly changing circumstances, effectively network, and communicate at all levels of the organization to ensure successful completion of projects in support of aggressive schedules. Other desirable attributes include operating with the highest level of personal integrity and be able to work under own initiative, calm under pressure and responsive to change with a logical approach to technical problem resolution and decision making.

This position is eligible for relocation assistance.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

    • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
    • Demonstrate at least 2 years of experience as a digital electrical engineer developing digital PWB hardware
    • Hands on experience in analog, digital, mixed signal, high speed, high power, multilayer, flexi rigid PCB Layout design in a schematic design environment
    • BOM/PL (bill of materials/parts list) creation, design rules verification, de-bugging, etc.
    • Component placement, constraint setting, understanding of high power signal routing rules and planes definition, stack-up design, DRC checks, packaging, tool integration
    • Packaging, tool integration, DRC validation, assembly drawing creation
    • Conversant with PCB Drawings
    • Gerber/ODB++ validation
    • Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite
    • Demonstrated skills in writing/following procedures
    • Ability to Obtain a SECRET Security Clearance or HIGHER

Security Clearance:
    • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
    • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
    • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.  Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

Preferred (not required) Qualifications:
    • Capable of generating complete drawings set to document PWB and CCA level designs is desired
    • Manage existing part creation processes, understanding symbol, footprint, part creation using mentor graphics enterprise tools and component Database tools
    • Experience with bench level testing, troubleshooting, and analyzing test results
    • Xpedition PCB Design Tools or equivalent CAD/CAE tools
    • Data/Library Management tools
    • Configuration Management tools

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
