Overview:

The Rogue Product Development team is looking for a CNC machining subject matter expert with a background in product design. The style and over engineering Rogue is known for will require someone with significant machining experience and with a strong background in product design. We are looking for someone who has a passion for fitness and is driven to create best in class products. Specifically, we are looking for someone who knows what is required to make machined fitness equipment that will provide both world class durability and function.

The product lines this role will be responsible for working on / overseeing, include barbells, specialty bars, dumbbells, machined rack attachments, etc.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as an integral part of the product design process, covering all aspects from concept through handover to production.
  • Evaluates and develops new products and improves existing products by studying market trends, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, materials, conferring with equipment vendors and soliciting observations from operators.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency for new and existing products by being cognizant of manufacturing costs, raw material yield, labor costs, packaging, warehousing and shipping costs when designing new products.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
  • Configure and operate CNC machines safely to perform precise machining functions on metal workpieces, including mounting, installing, aligning, and securing tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Program and machine prototype parts for the product design team.
  • Design components for new products, including modeling and creating detailed drawings for prototype parts.
  • Transition parts from prototype to production by developing and selecting necessary gauging, providing complete drawing packages, optimizing programs for efficiency, and selecting tooling that enhances the production process and overall production efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • Machining experience in one of the following industries is required, Aerospace, Firearms, Motorsports, Precision Outdoors, Marine Technology
  • 2-5+ years CNC machining/programming experience
  • Must read G-code and have CNC programming experience
  • CAD/CAM experience
  • CNC experience on both Mills and lathes, including dual spindle machines
  • Experience in optimizing CNC programs for production
  • Part / Fixture design experience
  • Experience creating and reading engineering drawings
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Product Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Product Design or similar area of study is preferred, but not required
  • Must be a fitness enthusiast
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift parts and assemble prototypes
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds
  • Ability to test prototype equipment through individual use of the equipment in its intended use
