The Patient Access Representative is crucial in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience, from scheduling appointments to managing patient information and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers.
Responsibilities:As a Patient Access Representative at our Pulmonology Clinic in Quincy, IL, you will be the first point of contact for patients. Your duties will include greeting and checking in patients, verifying and updating patient information, scheduling appointments, and managing patient records. You will handle incoming calls, answer patient inquiries, and direct them to the appropriate departments. Additionally, you will assist patients with completing necessary forms and provide information on clinic policies and procedures. This role requires excellent customer service skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. You will work a full-time schedule from Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Qualifications:The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, with one to two years of previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with a detail-oriented and organized approach to work. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) and medical terminology is a plus. Candidates should be compassionate, reliable, and able to work well as part of a team to ensure a positive patient experience.
