Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our finance team. As a Billing Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, managing client billing inquiries, and collaborating with attorneys and staff to maintain billing records with precision.
Responsibilities:
Generate and distribute monthly client invoices in compliance with billing guidelines and deadlines
Review time and expense entries for accuracy and completeness
Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure billing compliance
Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices to ensure timely payment
Maintain detailed billing records and documentation for audit and reporting purposes
Provide exceptional customer service to clients by addressing billing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
Assist with special billing projects and initiatives as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
2+ years of experience in billing, preferably in a legal or professional services environment
Proficiency in billing software and accounting systems (e.g., Elite, Aderant, QuickBooks)
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with legal billing guidelines and regulations is a plus
