Overview

This position will work closely under the Accounting Manager overseeing general accounting operations and perform complex accounting tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, and verifying financial transactions. The Senior Accountant will assist in reviewing the effectiveness and accuracy of all accounting tasks, including transactional processing, financial analysis, and monthly financial statements. The candidate should have a drive and desire to learn while supporting the successful growth of the Company.

Responsibilities:

Understand, create, and post both basic and intricate journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.

Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to address concerns and ensure smooth financial operations.

Perform insightful analyses on specific general ledger accounts, providing valuable insights for decision-making.

Assist in gathering data and schedules required for audits and tax filings, ensuring timely completion.

Support the management of accounts receivable, cash receipt, and billing functions, contributing to a healthy cash flow.

Maintain sales and use tax certificates and review related tax postings in the general ledger for accuracy.

Identify opportunities to improve our accounting systems by creating insightful suggestions and reports for management.

Review accounts and financial records to identify and correct discrepancies and errors, ensuring data integrity.

Assist with various special projects as needed, demonstrating your versatility and willingness to learn.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

Minimum 2 years of experience in a senior-level accounting role.

Strong understanding of accounting and finance principles and procedures.

Proficiency in analyzing general ledger accounts, investigating variances, and correcting errors.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with team members at all levels.

Ability to take initiative, work independently, and manage multiple projects.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a knack for negotiation.

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Proficient in Microsoft Office products and Advanced Excel.

Experience with SAP or similar accounting systems (a plus).
