Position Summary Responsible for leading daily operations of the Airbus U.S. Final Assembly Line (FAL) Accounting team. Oversees processing of transactions, journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of FAL financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Works closely with Corporate Accounting and Finance leadership to ensure compliance, meet deadlines, achieve accuracy, and maintain required records and other documentation. Provides input to Operating Plan (OP). Develops financial reports reflective of FAL operations and apprises FAL management of expense ratios, production costs, achievement relative to OP objectives and other key manufacturing financial metrics as required. In addition, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for ensuring alignment with technical accounting, Airbus Group policies and IFRS including researching and documenting technical accounting analyses of non-recurring transactions, developing accounting policies, and monitoring and implementing new accounting standards for the site. Responsibilities Leads FAL Accounting Team in performing daily accounting operations (periodic closing processes, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, treasury, fixed asset activity, etc.). Monitors and analyzes accounting data and produces financial reports or statements. Establishes and maintains fiscal files and records to document transactions. Ensures compliance with IFRS and/or CAS as required, including documentation of cumulative costs and transactions, exclusion of unallowable expenses, allocation of project hours, accounting methods, policies and principles. Coordinates with Corporate Controller's office in preparation of periodic closing reporting and supporting schedules. Prepares and reviews FAL financial statements and related footnotes for inclusion in the annually audited financial statements, ensuring compliance with all reporting and disclosure requirements under IFRS and/or CAS, as required. Coordinates and completes annual audits. Prepares written accounting memos documenting accounting issues and transactions for review by senior management and external auditors. Develops strong relationship with audit firm. Communicates and reinforces accounting policy controls and procedures to ensure adherence to such policies by FAL operations and functional leadership. Reviews and manages the support for completion of required government filings as required. Conduct meetings for Estimates At Completion (EAC), revenue recognition, account reconciliation and financial statement flux analysis. Responsible for supporting the preparation of monthly Tax provision, applicable VAT filings, the year-end tax packages for submission to the Global tax group, and complete monthly Tax balance sheet reconciliations. Education Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Certification(s) Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred Experience Ten (10) years of professional experience Three (3) years of Public Accounting experience or a minimum of five (5) years of Financial Reporting experience Two years' experience managing a professional accounting team. Knowledge of and/or experience working with general ledger systems and reporting packages, specifically SAP and Costpoint. Working knowledge and experience with general ledger system and financial statements including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Equity, and Statement of Cash Flows. Working knowledge of revenue recognition under IFRS 15 and development/analysis of EAC Experience managing financial statement audits. Previous experience in manufacturing is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities Understanding of general accounting policies and procedures at a transaction level. Attention to detail to prepare and review financial statements and proper filings and disclosures. Proficient in Microsoft software applications, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Ability to disaggregate, analyze and reconcile consolidated financial data in an accurate and timely manner. Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely express ideas both verbally and in writing, this will include communication of accounting policies and procedures to corporate team members. Absolute discretion and confidentiality regarding sensitive information. Ability to take initiative to identify, prioritize and implement all elements required for the team to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with core strategic goals.
