Job Description:
Parsons is now hiring an experienced Area Manager with a broad background in Rail & Transit Infrastructure development, and a desire to implement creative innovative, practical solutions for various projects in the Greater Toronto Region. In this role, you will be responsible for client management, bid development, scope development, project management and commercial performance of the project to meet project goals and objectives. Plans and defines program goals and devises methods to accomplish them; develops in depth knowledge of client objectives, contractterms and corporate policies.
Parsons has supported all elements of mass transit, including mainline railways, commuter rail and light rail transit, and our organizations have worked on every major transit system in North America and many of the most renowned systems overseas We have been improving infrastructure in the Canada region since 1964. Responsibilities:
Develop and manage new as well as existing client relationships
Successfully win and manage complex and projects within the operational and strategic framework
Ensure projects in the region are successfully executed and provide management level support to address project needs and issues.
Develop strategic initiatives client management plans and business plans for the area that align with the overall goals of the district and division
Manage interdisciplinary teams of professionals.
Integrate competing and/or conflicting elements into the planning and execution processes so that project requirements flow smoothly.
Mobilize company resources to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work.
Acts as the Company representative with the client and selected subcontractors during the program execution.
Assess contract risk and negotiate changes to the scope of work with the client and key
subcontractors including m
arketing and securing additional work with client.
Oversees establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents as required.
Develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of a project with managers and other stakeholders.
Ensure that the projects meet or exceed goals established in these plans.
Maintain current and timely change orders.
Promotes technical and commercial excellence on the project through application of Quality Assurance processes.
Monitor and reports to management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule.
Required Skills/Experience:
University Degree
15+ years of related engineering management experience on large scaleprograms
Possess a broad general technical and business background in rail industry including knowledge of industry standards.
Must have the ability to manage projects, interface with clients and enjoy being hands on technically in the project.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering related technical/business field
Experience with Rail/Transit infrastructure and/or systems in Canada is preferred; Toronto area experience strongly preferred
P. Eng, PMP or equivalent
