Position Overview:
We are currently in search of certified or registered Alcohol and Drug Counselors to join our dedicated Behavioral Health team. At Bay Area Community Resources, a non-profit organization, we are revitalizing one of our Alcohol and Drug Treatment Programs. Qualified counselors with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Salary: $26-$30/hour (full-time), based on registration/certification and experience.
  • 16 paid holidays provided by BACR.
  • Up to 3 weeks of vacation along with additional sick leave.

  • Medical insurance eligibility based on total weekly hours worked.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Must hold certification or registration as an Alcohol or Drug Counselor or possess a counseling license from a California Accredited Institution, such as CCAPP or CADPT.
  • Ability to work onsite at a designated facility.
  • Prior experience with justice-involved populations is preferred.
  • Strong work ethic with a thorough understanding of professional, ethical, and legal standards.
  • Must successfully pass Livescan fingerprinting and background checks.

Preferred Skills:
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Proficient in computer usage.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate educational and treatment groups both onsite and within the community.
  • Conduct intake assessments for new clients and manage discharges.
  • Provide individual care management.
  • Lead engagement and retention groups.
  • Address client concerns related to substance use and criminal behavior.
