Description

Director of Development is responsible for supervising Fund Development staff, and personally generating funds to support Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania and its various initiatives. Director of Development will assist with creating, and then implement and oversee strategies for identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual/corporate donors and foundations, as they align with GSHPA's mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional expertise and direction on all aspects of fund development.
  • Participate in the establishment of policies, procedures, plans, goals, and budget; assist in managing the departmental budget to goals.
  • Develop a robust strategy for planned giving initiative.
  • Oversee timely receipt and acknowledgment of gifts, sponsorships, grants, and other donations utilizing the donor database system.
  • Actively seek new funding sources.
  • Plan, manage, and implement multi-faceted fundraising strategies that align with council's short and long-term goals.
  • Develop and set expectations for Fund Development team in areas such as: prospect research, donor cultivation, gift solicitation, and timely stewardship.
  • Maintain and foster relationships with current and past donors to continue and increase their donations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Five years of experience in fundraising or relationship management required.
  • Three years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to close large gifts with individuals, corporations, and organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, including planning, implementation, supervision, evaluation, and analysis.
  • Strong public relations skills and ability to develop community collaborations.
  • Pass and maintain required background clearances.
  • Work a flexible schedule, to include nights and weekends, as needed.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license; access to reliable transportation required.
