Job DescriptionOur client is currently seeking a HR Manager who will partner with company leadership to develop, promote, and support its people and organizational strategies. The ideal candidate is a compassionate and forward-thinking HR professional who has proven success with all core functions of HR as well as possesses a positive and "hands-on" attitude.This is a full-time, permanent position that requires onsite work at our client's New Britain and Kensington, CT locations.Responsibilities:Recruitment & Onboarding:Work with Hiring Managers to create job descriptions, sourcing, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, and applicant selection to fill vacant positionsPartner with local leadership and develop community-based marketing initiatives for recruitment sourcing methodsDevelop training and company culture onboarding scheduleConduct New Hire Orientation & required documentationHRIS Management:Maintain security of all employee personnel documentation. Ensure employee data integrityProvide accurate and updated data for reporting, metrics, and other data reporting programs and/or legal requirementsPayroll Support:Input and review employee data (state/local taxes, banking information, benefit/payroll deductions, and paid time off (PTO) plans)Execute and audit all company employee change actions including, but not limited to transfers, promotions, wage changes, pay adjustments, and termination in HRIS systemBenefits:Responsible for employee healthcare benefits administrationFacilitate and coordinate employee benefits education and processes relating to 401K, Retirement/Enrollment, Tuition Assistance, FMLA, Leaves of Absence, Short/Long-Term Disability related paperworkCoordinate employee recognition programs and engagement eventsCompliance:Partner with local and corporate leadership to maintain a compliant and updated employee handbookManage the execution of all annual compliance trainingOversee the business unit's Safety Committee effectiveness in mitigating workplace injuries and illnesses, while ensuring the compliance to all federal and state OSHA laws and regulationsEnsure the completion of incident forms and submitting Workers Compensation claimsOffboarding/Post Employment:Perform exit interview and ensure a smooth and positive employee transitionRespond to unemployment questionnaires and attend unemployment hearingsPartner with management to perform department/job analysis to capture any changes in strategy alignment or organizational fitPerformance Management/Training & Development:With management, develop a streamlined, department specific performance appraisal systemConduct investigations on employee relations matters. Coach and guide managers. Track all employee disciplinary actionsMonitor and support the employee engagement survey action item deliverablesProvide training and/or technical support on various HRIS systems, HR processes, and programsStrategic Planning:Partner with Leadership in the planning and implementation of the company's HR strategic goals and initiativesMaintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and innovative technologies in all HR functions and recommend new ideas to promote continuous improvementExperience and SkillsRequirements:Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Psychology, or related field5-7 years of experience in a HR Generalist (senior-level) or HR Manager function, within a manufacturing and or machining environmentExperience reporting directly into company leadership is preferredComfortable working in a smaller manufacturing environmentKnowledge of federal, state, and local employment lawsSome experience with HRIS/Payroll systems for data management, desiredAbility to exercise discretion, good judgment, confidentiality, and professionalism in dealing with all employment issues
