REPORTS TO: School Administration & EARSS Grant Manager

This position is for the 24-25 school year and is probationary unless the selected candidate is hired after the first student day. Per Master Agreement, when a position is filled after the opening of school by an individual who was not employed by the District in the previous school year, that employee will receive a one-year temporary contract.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Sheridan School District 2 is seeking a Student Success Coordinator who has experience differentiating supports and instruction for students to ensure academic success. This person would provide direct supports to students identified as being "at-risk" of failure, suspension or expulsion due to low achievement in reading and/or math, attendance, behavior or other risk factors. The Student Success Coordinator will work extensively with students to help them improve specific reading, math or study skills and/or support students' improvement in school attendance or school behaviors to ensure success. This is a grant-funded position through the EARSS Grant, which is funded through the conclusion of the 2027-2028 school year. SOAR is looking for a literacy and ELL intervention support.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ALL LICENSED POSITIONS:

Required

? Teachers must hold a valid Colorado License.

? Bilingual Preferred

? Knowledge of Reading and/or math intervention

? Experience working with MultiLanguage Learners Preferred

? Experience with Special Education Preferred

? Experience with MTSS Processes

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:

? Lead four additional support individuals providing struggling students

? Coach and support individuals in applying the 95% Intervention program with fidelity

? Analyze data and use it to drive small group intervention and grade-level data conversations

KEY RESULT AREAS AND ATTENDANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Instructional Planning

? Planning for effective use of limited intervention time utilizing an approved intervention program.

? Support all EARSS grant implementation and management tasks as directed or assigned

? Co-planning with classroom teacher, Instructional Support Assistants and Admin/SEL Team.

? Continuing professional growth through participation in educational meetings and defined professional growth opportunities, reading professional literature, and exchanging ideas with others on staff.

? Participating in weekly data meetings/PLCs and/or RtI meetings for specific students, as needed

? Using formal and informal methods to assess the abilities and needs of students

Instructional Interaction (Teaching)

? Apply sound instructional principles to enhance student achievement.

? Utilize teaching methods that are appropriate for the objectives and learners.

? Modify instruction based on data analysis to meet student needs.

? Communicate effectively with learners.

? Provide for and maintain student involvement during instruction.

Evaluation of instruction

? Administering and interpreting specific diagnostic surveys to develop intervention strategies that address individual student needs in small group settings, including use of flexible grouping strategies and schedules.

? Using appropriate formal and informal assessment tools to plan instruction.

? Preparing daily one-to-one and small group intervention lessons.

? Providing specialized instructional strategies to ensure progress as well as to meet the social and emotional needs of the pupils.

? Participating in conferences concerning pupils served.

? Communicate effectively student progress to student and parent/guardian

Instructional management

? Attend to tasks in a manner that maximizes instruction.

? Maintain necessary student records, regular progress monitoring of student goals.

? Supplying progress reports to school personnel and to parents

? Providing follow up for teachers of students receiving interventions

? Accepting other responsibilities as directed by the principal or supervisor

Learning Environment

? Establish clear expectations for appropriate behavior

? Establish consequences for inappropriate behavior

Professional Responsibilities

? Participate in professional growth opportunities

? Adhere to the code of ethics of the teaching professional of the State of Colorado

? Recognize problems and actively contribute to their resolutions

? Collaborate with others to fulfill responsibilities related to EARSS grant and overall district and school goals and priorities

? Accept and fulfill assigned responsibilities and duties in a prompt and efficient manner

? Follow Board of Education policies, building procedures and any other rules, regulations or procedures that may be established by the District or Building administrators

? Perform other duties as may be assigned by the building principal in accordance with District Policies

CLEARANCE:

Must clear background check through the CBI and the FBI through Fingerprint submission.

SALARY:

Placement on Licensed Teacher salary schedule based upon highest degree earned, college credits earned after highest degree and previous teaching experience. Current Board approved Licensed Teacher salary schedule, placement policy and Master Agreement are available for review on our district website at www.ssd2.org. Highest initial step placement on the Licensed Salary Schedule is Step 9.

The annual salary for this position will be determined by number of hours scheduled to work each day and number of days scheduled to work each year. The computed annual salary will be spread out in equal payments over 12 months. Sheridan School District employees are paid once a month on the 1st working day of the month that is not a weekend day or holiday.

BENEFITS:

Employees who are scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week are eligible to obtain district benefits which include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance and supplemental benefits. Positions that qualify for benefits also qualify for leave which could include vacation and daily leave to be determined by the position and number of days assigned. Sheridan School District No. 2 is a public employer and participates in the Colorado Public Employees' Retirement Association (PERA). Effective 7/1/2022, employees will be required by state statute to contribute 11% of salary on a pre-tax basis to PERA.
