LHH is seeking a Property Accountant to oversee financial operations across our client's portfolio's. This is a hybrid role located in Oak Brook, IL. They offer competitive benefits and have a legacy spanning decades across the country.
Responsibilities:
- Manage preparation of comprehensive financial statements, including journal entries, general ledger review, and balance sheet support schedules.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial packages to Regional Property Managers, Business Managers, and clients.
- Monitor and maintain cash balances effectively.
- Resolve issues promptly and document responses to review comments.
- Analyze variances in financial statements and provide explanations for significant items.
- Calculate management fees and oversee related invoice processing.
- Conduct bi-weekly Inter-Project Account reconciliations and address outstanding issues.
- Ensure timely payments of debt, real estate taxes, sales taxes, and owner distributions, maintaining internal schedules.
- Verify completion of bank reconciliations and promptly resolve reconciling items.
- Adhere to internal accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure accurate input of budget information.
- Support client audit requests as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
- 6-10 years of relevant property accounting experience.
- CPA is a plus
- Proficiency in Excel and Real Estate accounting software (e.g., Yardi).
