Essential Functions:

The Career/Employment Specialist establishes and maintains relationships withemployers and community organizations to develop and match qualified clients with employment opportunities andsupport continued employment. Coordinatesday-to-day activities such as soliciting employer interest and involvement in the employment of clients, orienting clients to the servicesprovided, posting opportunities and trackingplacement data.
Responsibilities:

This jobrequires substantial knowledge of local economic and labor market conditions and trends; effective techniques for contacting potentialemployers; community resources and professional organizations; flexibility, andexperience in workforce development, case management or sales and marketing.

1. Develop contact with potential employersdaily/cold calls and face to face meeting.

2. Develop specific job opportunities that match client's skills, work experience,related training, and interest.

3. Coordinates planningof employment development activities.

4. Make contact with service providers.

5. Make contact withclients/students/employers monthly (follow up on placement of clients).

6. Attend Job/Career Fairs.

7. Ensure the integrity of programmatic and client/student data; and ensure that datais documented in the agency's client/student information system in real time.

8. OrganizeJob/Career Fairs.

9. Attend monthly meetingsfor Workforce as needed.

10. Complete reports as assigned.

11. Participate in Workforce Development Webinars.

12. Provide social service referralsto all clients.

13. Conduct student exit interviews.

14. Assist faculty with employerverification forms.

15. Conduct employer and graduate follow up surveys.

16. Conduct jobplacement assistance activities.

17. Assist in the evaluation of career services plans and procedures.
Skills and Abilities:

1. Ability to organize, work effectively, conceptualize, and prioritize objectives and execise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policiesand activities.

2. Abilityto maintain good working relationships with staff, volunteers, clients, and others.
• 3. Abilityto integrate resources, policies, andinformation for the determination of procedures, solutions,and other outcomes.

4. Must have excellentorganizational skills and be able tocomplete projects efficiently and independently.

5. Must haveexcellent communication skills including verbal,phone, word processing,

email, and internet.

Requirements:

1. Minimum of BAor BSis required and three years of professionalexperience in organizations involved with project management, including project planning, trainingand workforce development, programdevelopment and records management.

2. Strong leadership and organizational skills.

3. Entrepreneurialskills, innovativethinking, facilitation, and consensus buildingskills required.

4. Must be able to workwell, both independently and as part of a team.

5. Ability to analyze and present data andprogram information, orallyand in writingand in non-technical language.

6. Must be proficient in operating a computer and experience with Microsoft Office (Word,

Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and other social media application.
• 7. Must provide own transportation.

8. Mustbe able to clear DMV check.
