Career Coach, Campus Outreach & Peer Programs

The Newcomb-Tulane College Career Service's mission is to empower students to translate their lived experience and academic knowledge to their post-Tulane future through advocacy, action, and connection.

The Career Coach for Campus Outreach & Peer Programs supports the NTC Career Services team's efforts to build connections across campus and create access to our resources and services through managing the student Peer Career Advisors and our campus outreach programs.

This position is responsible for coaching students individually and within small groups while supporting our efforts to create programming that supports equity and access to Tulane Career Services and NTC Career Services.

The Career Coach plays a vital role in expanding the NTC Career Services team's reach across campus and has a passion for executing the NTC Career Services vision of meeting and engaging students where they are on their unique career journeys.

This position requires staying current in career and industry trends, coaching resources, and supporting our Tulane students through innovative programming that provides students with access to opportunities.

The Career Coach works in an innovative, collaborative, team-based environment committed to excellence and being 'best in class,' providing excellent customer service, personal and professional development, and the belief that innovation leads to transformation.

The competitive candidate will have experience assisting students in accomplishing their goals, assisting employers in hiring students, building, maintaining, and leveraging relationships, and understanding how to incorporate traditional and emerging career development theories and practices into an integrated campus service delivery model.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1 year of experience in an educational setting advising individuals on career and professional development themes or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Higher Education or a related field
  • 3 years of experience in advising, coaching or related experience
  • Demonstrated experience in fostering relationships in a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at Tulane University
  • Strategic planning and implementation; goal-setting skills
  • Demonstration of leadership skills within a high-achieving team setting
