POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for providing analytical support for Lean process improvement initiatives led by Operational Excellence. Including, but not limited, to developing, reviewing and validating data reports, and presenting findings in a clear and concise manner to help improve reporting and documentation.

Extensive participation in project management reporting. Manages the information as it relates to regulatory reporting throughout University Health.

Integrates clinical, computer and information sciences for the purposes of identifying, collecting, processing and managing data and information. Supports work flow analysis and manages multiple data sources to create comprehensive databases and reports.

Supports Information Systems and the organization by integrating the clinical/operational and technical aspects of projects.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

•Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and current Registered Nurse Licensure from the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas is required.

•Five years required experience in clinical practice. Post-graduate course and/or certification in clinical informatics preferred. Master's degree preferred.

•Three (3) years related work experience in registries, data warehouses and data analysis preferred. Project management experience with medical chart review and clinical data abstraction within an integrated health system or academic medical center is highly desirable.

•Experience in data scrubbing, data normalization and validation is highly desirable.

Experience in Epic EMR is highly desirable and preferred.

•Knowledge of SQL, Microsoft Access and Excel is required. Experience building and maintaining Clinical Registries is highly desirable. Experience in the following is desirable: Languages: ASP/ Web development, Visual Basic (required), SQL (desirable), Databases: Microsoft SQL (desirable), Microsoft Access (desirable) Operating Systems: Windows XP (required), Windows 7 (desirable)

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Current Registered Nurse Licensure from the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas is required.

Lean six sigma preferred.
