Position Overview

Healthcare Informatics Specialist - On-site role with a hybrid schedule requiring three days in the office.

Role Summary:

The Healthcare Informatics Specialist plays a vital role within the informatics division, collaborating closely with both clinical and operational stakeholders. Acting as a liaison and advocate, this position is essential in translating clinical knowledge into effective clinical applications. The Specialist is tasked with conducting workflow assessments and implementing change management strategies. They offer technical expertise and share their insights as a certified EHR informaticist. In the capacity of a clinical content developer, they oversee the design, construction, testing, and training associated with the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of clinical applications.

Key Qualifications:

  • EPIC Certification is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Two to five (2-5) years of experience in healthcare, specifically in support of an EHR application as an analyst or informaticist.
  • Alternatively, two years of super user or training support experience is acceptable if combined with two years of direct patient care experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of healthcare delivery workflows and processes.
  • Familiarity with fundamental project management principles and proven ability to lead an implementation or project.
  • Awareness of diverse learning styles and effective teaching strategies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and web conferencing tools.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy regulations.
  • Familiarity with various methods to facilitate knowledge transfer.
  • Understanding of information systems, including office automation and data analysis tools such as MS Office and Visio.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree.
  • Healthcare licensure (RN, LVN, RT).
  • Two years of experience in a direct patient care environment.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Direct experience as an analyst or informaticist in EHR implementation or upgrades.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of auto liability insurance with a clean driving record.
