We are confidentially seeking a Director of Sales & Marketing to lead three full-service independent hotels. The position will be based in Boston with travel to properties in the Northeast. Our Director of Sales and Marketing is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth and brand presence across multiple hotel properties within the designated area. This position entails developing and executing comprehensive sales and marketing strategies that align with the hotel's business goals and market trends. Our ideal Director of Sales and Marketing candidate will bring thorough hotel sales and marketing experience from the Boston market, a thirst and ability to close new business, the capability to maintain a current portfolio, and the skills to lead a Sales team.
Responsibilities
The position will be based in Boston with 50% travel to Northeast markets.
Sign, secure, and oversee new and existing group opportunities.
Develop and implement robust sales and marketing plans for each hotel property, ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives.
Conduct market research and analysis to identify new opportunities, trends, and competitive movements.
Foster and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to drive continuous business growth.
Oversee the sales team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure optimal team performance.
Collaborate with hotel management to develop promotional activities, advertising campaigns, and special events aimed at enhancing brand visibility and attracting potential guests.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sales and marketing efforts through metrics and KPIs, adjusting strategies as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports related to sales and marketing activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years experience in sales and marketing leadership roles within the hospitality industry.
Proven history of successfully developing and executing sales and marketing strategies that drive revenue growth.
Strong understanding of market dynamics, customer behavior, and competitive landscapes in the hospitality industry.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Fluid understanding of the Boston market.
