Business Objects Developer (Deski)

LOCATION:

Owings Mills, MD (Hybrid - 1 day a week in office)

DESCRIPTION:

Compass Pointe has partnered with a global financial company in the Owings Mills, MD area that is looking to hire a Business Objects Developer with Deski experience. Will be using SAP BO XIR2/XIR3, Desktop Intelligence Application. In this role the candidate will provide production and project support for the Investment Teams by creating new or modifying existing. Review and interpret system requirements and business processes as well as code, test, debug and implement software solutions. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Automate tasks (unit, smoke, and end-to-end testing).

Develop in Business Objects using SQL (sproc) and/ or PERL.

Work directly with Business Analyst.

Be accountable for work and sometimes others, provide process and standards advice in your area of specialization.

Work independently.

Serve as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Actively helping team members/make suggestions to improve practices.

REQUIREMENTS:

10+ years of experience and 5+ years with SAP BO XIR2/XIR3.

Programs proficiently in several languages and is comfortable switching between them (highly proficient in either SQL or Sproc), Sybase, Unix.

Some knowledge of PERL, Autosys, Python and DB2.

Shows dedication to quality by implementing suitable software using unit/integration and acceptance testing at the time of feature development.

Debugs large components with limited assistance and assists other engineers.

Able to work directly with business analysts.

Decisions show a focus on current and future business priorities, together with fiscal responsibility.

Can articulate business needs and translate them into technology solutions.

Experience using Deski version of Business Objects.
