Description:

Nature and Scope: This position is a part of global Air Cooled Chiller product engineering team. The engineer will work under the engineering manager to support design and development of various new chiller products and support production of existing products globally. Primary Responsibilities: 1. Maintains in-depth understanding of theories, concepts, technical principles and processes related to all aspects of air-cooled chillers 2. Has proficiency in mechanical design and be able to conceptualize and implement design ideas into the product 3. Leads engineering activities in refrigeration components selection and system design to meet product specification. 4. Develops and executes test programs independently to verify performance and reliability of mechanical sub-components and systems 5. Analyzes test data, develops calculation methods and simulation models to predict components and system performance. 6. Leads development and sustainment projects working with cross functional teams to ensure on-time completion of projects 7. Generates technical documentation for use within the company 8. Serves as technical expert to support product code/standard compliance efforts 9. Possesses extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes related to air cooled chiller products and applies the philosophy of designing to standard manufacturing process 10. Provides technical support to manufacturing, field trouble shooting and application inquiries 11. Mentors and supervises junior engineers to effectively develop technical competency 12. Strives for continuous improvement and teamwork in a global product development environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Qualifications: 1. BS in Thermal Engineering or related science, Masters degree is preferred 2. Sr Level Individual Contributor experience in a related field. 3. Extensive knowledge/experience in refrigeration system and components (compressors, heat exchangers, compressors) or related field: turbines, pressure vessels, rotating assemblies, compressors, pumps, thermal systems, etc. 4. Experience in leading product development on local and global platform from Inception through design, testing, prototyping, collaboration with manufacturing team, to production and support 5. Basic understanding of fundamental business knowledge 6. Knowledge/experience in screw compressors is a plus
