About the Role:
Johnson Controls International is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Compressor Design Drafter to join our team of design engineering professionals. As a key member of our dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in bringing our industry-leading compressor technology from concept to reality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize Creo 6.0 software to create detailed drawings of precision machine components and complex assemblies.
- Prepare and revise bills of material for assemblies and text descriptions of parts.
- Apply standard mechanical technical design and drafting principles, theories, concepts, techniques, and processes to ensure high-quality designs.
- Demonstrate knowledge and use of engineering and commercial standards for design application.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in sheet metal, castings, forgings, and other mechanical components.
- Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to ensure seamless project execution and effective communication with internal customers.
- Meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and adapting to changing priorities.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of SAP or other Material Resource Planning software to investigate existing material and BOMs.
- Possess a solid understanding of air conditioning and refrigeration principles, with a strong mechanical aptitude and design experience in rotating machinery, cast parts, and GD&T.
Requirements:
- An Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- Experience using Windchill/Creo 6.0 or higher.
- Working knowledge of MSOffice Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Mechanical aptitude and design experience in rotating machinery, cast parts, and GD&T.
- Ability to travel globally up to 10% per year.
