Overview of the opportunity:
Our client in Stamford, CT, is seeking a Credit & Accounts Receivable Analyst to offer analytical expertise in managing customer portfolios and ensuring timely payment of receivables. This position involves identifying and resolving deductions within the established timeframes of Cash Operations and Corporate guidelines. The Accounts Receivable Analyst also works to prevent future deductions by initiating process improvements within Customer Operations and across departments. Additionally, this role is responsible for developing, supporting, and reporting key performance indicators, as well as supporting the development and execution of Cash Operations strategies, projects, and initiatives.

Position Responsibilities:

Credit Analysis: 40%

  • Evaluate risk and assess creditworthiness of new customers by gathering and analyzing financial data.
  • Recommend adjustments to credit lines, including increases or withdrawals.
  • Prepare and present credit reviews for management approval.
  • Collaborate with collection teams to understand payment trends and other credit indicators.
  • Monitor and manage receivables for high-risk accounts, coordinating customer service for order holds as needed.

Portfolio Reporting and Analysis: 30%

  • Analyze and report on customer and HHBC behaviors that impact accounts receivable, including deduction activities and overdue payments.
  • Develop strong working relationships with customers, brokers, and internal HHBC teams to resolve noncompliance issues.
  • Conduct periodic business reviews, either face-to-face or via teleconference.
  • Actively participate in project teams within Customer Operations and Cash Operations to drive continuous business improvements.

Accounts Receivable & Deduction Management: 30%

  • Ensure customer payment performance aligns with HHBC terms of sale, policies, and procedures.
  • Collect overdue receivables promptly.
  • Accurately identify, validate, and resolve customer deductions according to business processes and corporate guidelines.
  • Promptly address and collect invalid deductions.
  • Reduce incoming deductions by identifying and driving process improvements, engaging appropriate stakeholders as necessary.


Required Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree (or equivalent work experience)
  • 3+ years of AR experience
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, creatively, and efficiently with minimal direction in an unstructured environment
  • Strong planning and organization skills: ability to establish work plans, multi-task, and prioritize simultaneous projects
  • Strong listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced experience using Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word
  • High proficiency with computer systems and enterprise software
  • Experience in identifying, initiating and driving improvements to processes and work streams
  • Energy, enthusiasm, commitment, courage, and entrepreneurial excitement
